IELTS Score

It is now time to wait for the IELTS exam results. The findings will be available in less than two weeks. To find out the results, go to the official websites of the IDP or the British Council. Candidates will be given an IELTS score on a scale of 1-9 for all four parts. Aside from that, they will be given their overall band score. Applicants must comprehend the band IELTS score. IELTS Score Validity

Candidates receive their test results within 5 to 7 days of finishing the exam. On the other hand, the offline technique can take up to 13 days.
Furthermore, IELTS results are valid for two years after the individual gets them.
The purpose of IELTS score validity being limited to two years is to guarantee that the originality of the information is preserved. Because people forget information over time, increased time validity might erode applicants’ knowledge.

IELTS Band Score

The IELTS exam is divided into four sections: reading, writing, listening and speaking. Each component accounts for 25% of the overall IELTS band score. As a result, each piece is equally important.

The exam is graded using band scores ranging from 0 to 9, with each number reflecting a different level of English ability. IELTS Band Score (Section Wise)

The listening test has 40 questions. If you successfully answer the question, you will receive one point. The highest and minimum marks for the IELTS listening component are 40 and 0. The applicants’ marks are transformed into an IELTS band scale of 1 to 9, which is essentially the raw score (number of correct answers).

IELTS Reading Band Score

The IELTS reading test has 40 questions. If you properly answer a question, you will receive one mark. A candidate’s highest mark is 40, while their lowest mark is 0. The applicants’ marks are transformed into the IELTS band scale.

Academic Reading Test and General Training Reading Test are the two portions of the reading test.

The IELTS academic reading exam has a more complicated style and a higher vocabulary level than the General Training Reading Test. More questions must be successfully answered than in the Academic Reading Test in the General Training Reading Test to achieve a high band score.

IELTS Speaking Band Score

The IELTS Speaking Test is divided into three sections. The first section lasts four to five minutes, during which the examiner will ask you basic questions about your studies, family, employment, and so on. In part 2, you will be given a card to talk about a certain topic. You will have one minute to deliberate before speaking for two minutes. Part 3 of the IELTS Speaking test expands the topic covered in Part 2 and requires you to explain more abstract concepts and topics.

IELTS Writing Band Score

The Academic and General Training Writing parts of the IELTS Writing exam have two tasks. Each task is graded individually on a scale of 0 to 9, with task 2 receiving more significant weightage than task 1. For assignment 1, you will be needed to summarise the information presented to you in the form of a graph, diagram, chart, or table on the IELTS Academic writing test. Task 2 requires you to compose an essay in response to an argument or point of view.

For assignment 1 of the IELTS General Training Writing Test, you will be needed to assess a scenario and write a letter to describe the circumstance. You must produce an essay responding to an issue, point of view, or problem for Task 2 of the IELTS General Training Writing Test. To achieve a high band on the writing test, some evaluation criteria must be met. A band score is awarded based on the average of these scores.

Because IRCC takes 6 months to complete your application, you need to make sure your IELTS exam results are valid for the entire time. A minimum language competence of CLB 7, or a minimum of 6.0 for each area of the IELTS exam, is required for permanent residency through Express Entry.

The IELTS Indicator is a timed examination that is structured similarly to an in-person exam. Because it uses normal IELTS marking systems and professional IELTS examiners, it stays dependable, fair, and accurate. Most colleges and institutions in Ireland demand IELTS band scores of 6.5 or above. The Irish Naturalisation and Immigration Service, on the other hand, requires IELTS band scores of 5.

In the United States, most colleges accept 5.5 IELTS, and if your IELTS score is less than 5.5, you may consider retaking the IELTS Test. Candidates aiming for an average university in the United States must have an IELTS score of at least 6.5 or better.

A minimum overall IELTS Band Score of 5.5 is required to acquire a New Zealand study visa.

The IELTS passing score for a bachelor’s degree in the United Kingdom is commonly 6.0 or 6.5. However, if you want to apply to top UK colleges like the University of Oxford, your IELTS score must be 7.0. 10+2 pass from an accredited school/college. The average passing percentage should be 70% or above.

To study in Australia, you must have an IELTS score of at least 6.5 overall, with no band lower than 6.0 for your postgraduate degree. When applying for undergraduate programmes, you must have an IELTS score of at least 6.0 overall.
